About Whatever O'Clock
The general idea
Whatever O'Clock makes wall clocks that say what you're actually thinking. It's the deliberate opposite of the calm, inspirational sort — the same made-to-order clock, blunter words. Where those sell you a better morning, we sell you the time and a small amount of honesty about it.
Each one is printed to order in the United States and shipped to your door. A clock won't fix anything. But the wall was empty, and now it isn't.
Who makes these
Mark — Founder & Designer
South coast of England, United Kingdom
Whatever O'Clock was started by Mark, a founder and designer based on the south coast of England. He spent over a decade as a web designer before launching this studio in 2026 — partly because every wall clock he could find was either purely functional or relentlessly upbeat, and he wanted something quieter on the wall.
Every clock is printed and assembled by a small workshop in the United States, then shipped directly to U.S. customers — no overseas freight, no surprise import duties. The artwork is designed in the studio in England; the manufacturing happens close to you. It's the way the whole thing makes sense: small studio thinking, local-to-you making.
How it works
- Pick something you actually feel. The range runs from mildly fed up to fully past caring.
- Set the colours — background, text, frame, hands. Tasteful or hideous, no one's stopping you.
- Add it to the cart and pay. Stripe handles the money; we never see your card.
- We print and ship it from the US. It turns up ready to hang, whether or not you still care.
Why a clock?
A clock is the one object that's actually about time — waiting, repetition, the slow realisation that it's later than you thought. Most clocks politely pretend not to notice. Ours says it out loud.
You choose the colours, not us. Easy to read, impossible to read — your call. If you can't quite make out the time, you'll cope. You were going to be late anyway.
